MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Agents of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) smuggled explosives across the Belarusian border and made stashes in Belarus’ territory, BelTA learned from the Zachistka [Mopping-up] film released by the Belarusian TV channel ONT.

According to the ONT, in January 2024 Belarus’ State Security Committee (KGB) apprehended 12 residents of a border district of Belarus. They were agents of Ukrainian security agencies and had smuggled explosives across the border and made stashes in Belarus’ territory.

Soldiers of the KGB SWAT team A had to fire at the suspects because one of them tried to resist, tried to run away, and posed a threat to lives of KGB personnel.

Smugglers, who lived only 5km away from the Belarusian border, were part of the criminal scheme. They communicated only via the messaging app WhatsApp.
