Trains from Russia's Kaliningrad to make additional stops in Belarus

MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – Starting from 22 April trains from Kaliningrad, Russia will be making additional stops in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Railways.

Additional stops on the territory of Belarus have been introduced for transit train No.30/29 Kaliningrad - Moscow - Smorgon and Molodechno stations with the possibility for passengers to travel through the Molodechno - Moscow and Moscow - Smorgon sections, transit train No.80/79 Kaliningrad - St. Petersburg - Smorgon, Molodechno, Krulevshchizna, Polotsk, Shumilino stations with the possibility for passengers to travel through the Smorgon - St. Petersburg - Smorgon section. Additional stops have also been introduced for train 360/359 Kaliningrad - Adler - Smorgon, Molodechno, Borisov stations with the possibility for passengers to travel through the Smorgon - Adler - Smorgon section.

Belarusian Railways emphasizes that these trains are only for the citizens of Belarus and the Russian Federation.

The press center also reminded that Belarusian citizens need to present the proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test conducted 72 hours or less to the scheduled departure time. Exceptions are children under the age of 5, members of government delegations of EAEU member states when returning to the country of citizenship, members of locomotive crews and persons associated with transportation activities on the railway transport.

Russian citizens returning to Russia from abroad by rail must fill out a questionnaire on the Public Services Portal of the Russian Federation prior to arrival in the Russian Federation, and upon arrival must undergo laboratory testing for COVID-19 by PCR method within three calendar days and post the results on the portal. It is obligatory to observe the isolation regime at the place of residence (stay) until the results are known.

When traveling to Belarus, foreign nationals over six years of age, with the exception of those who have a permit for permanent or temporary residence in Belarus, must also have the abovementioned medical document confirming a negative result of PCR test for COVID-19.
