MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Former head of a regional branch of the opposition party Narodnaya Gromada Olga Tishkevich told the ONT TV channel about the training of Belarusians and citizens of other countries in Lithuania to infiltrate Belarus as part of a sabotage group.

‘Litvins’ are one of the formations operating in Lithuania that allegedly provides tactical and medical training. Olga Tishkevich confirmed that ‘Litvins’ in fact train citizens of Belarus and other countries who are to be sent to Belarus as part of a sabotage group at some point.

“I was accepted into this ‘club’, but ‘accepted’ is probably not the right word to describe it. I was sent there by Vilsky [acting leader of Narodnaya Gromada Yevgeny Vilsky]. At one point he suggested going to a shooting range. He said, let's go shoot, it's interesting. We went to the shooting range, and he suggested checking the results. I thought: why would I do it? The first time I shot, I had seven, eight, nine - a good result,” Olga Tishkevich said.

According to her, Yevgeny Vilsky collected and photographed all the results. As Olga Tishkevich realized later, Vilsky recommended her to ‘Litvins’. Moreover, he wanted the activist to get into the military unit. Olga Tishkevich noted that, theoretically, members of this formation could harm Belarus.

“Half of them are just having fun. Their ultimate goal is to come to Belarus and cause some damage. I told Laurinas [an employee of the Lithuanian State Security Department with whom Olga Tishkevich was in contact] about this. He was horrified and asked how many people were there. I said more than 50,” Olga Tishkevich added.

She remarked that ‘Litvins’ were supervised by another employee of the Lithuanian special services. In particular, a young woman from the State Security Department supervised Sergei Shalygin codenamed ‘Bison’, the head of the Vilnius “khorugv” unit. He has a reputation of a spineless person. His son, former mercenary Aleksandr Shalygin, killed his ‘fellow’ in Vilnius in the late 2022 and was detained. Sergei Shalygin is struggling to find money to pay for his son's lawyer and to find some useful connections. He keeps in touch with the Lithuanian State Security Department.

“Laurinas said that he would check this, but added that probably everything is already known. That other people are doing this,” Olga Tishkevich added.
