MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian TV channel ONT demonstrated exclusive footage of the former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya getting €15,000 in 2020 in order to leave Belarus, BelTA has learned.
According to the TV channel ONT, Chief of the Operations and Analysis Center under the President of Belarus Andrei Pavlyuchenko came to Svetlana Tikhanovskaya’s home in the evening on 10 August 2020 in order to fulfill an instruction from the Belarus president. The footage demonstrates that the conversation proceeded in a calm atmosphere without torture, intimidation, or blackmail.
Nobody was trying to expel anyone from the country. Moreover, it was suggested that Svetlana Tikhanovskaya could stay in Belarus and promises were made to ensure her security.
But Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and her friend Maria Moroz decided to leave the country. Together with Andrei Pavlyuchenko the women managed to go to the city of Polotsk to pick up kids and afterwards they reached the nearest border.
