MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) – Chief of the Operations and Analysis Center under the President of Belarus Andrei Pavlyuchenko personally escorted the former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya to the border in 2020, BelTA learned from a broadcast on the Belarusian TV channel ONT.
Andrei Pavlyuchenko said: “During a conversation good contact was found somehow. And you know, she asked for me to personally accompany her on the way to the border. We had a nice conversation. When we were parting ways, of course, I cannot say that we were parting as friends, as good acquaintances, she was very grateful. I left her my contact phone number. I told her that if she had any trouble, she could always contact either me or our embassy and we would always help her.”
The TV broadcast emphasized that Svetlana Tikhanovskaya had been warned about her departure in advance. She had an entire day to pack. Moreover, she was also given €15,000 as monetary aid. But five years later in order to maintain her status as “a victim of the regime”, Svetlana Tikhanovskaya once again lied in an interview with the BBC that she had been rushed and had had at most 20 minutes to pack.
