TIBO 2021 draws over 28,000 visitors

MINSK, 10 June (BelTA) - The Communications and Informatization Ministry has summed up the results of the 27th installment of the international forum on information and communications technologies TIBO 2021, BelTA has learned.

"The TIBO 2021 forum, which was held in Minsk last week, generated a lot of interest. Since its establishment more than a quarter of a century ago, the forum has turned into a unique platform to exchange best international experience, to discuss state policy in the information sector, generate innovative knowledge and to review the mechanisms for integrating the latest technological trends into various areas of economy, business and life of modern society," the ministry said.

The expo highlighted several themes: telecommunications and online infrastructure; Television, multimedia and gaming technology; Digital publishing and printing; Internet technology and services; Robotics; Smart city and region technology Security systems and technologies; Automated design and control systems; Modern technological trends; IEM systems and ERP platforms; Industry solutions.

A total of 141 organizations from 10 countries (Azerbaijan, Belarus, Germany, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Russia, Uzbekistan, France, Japan) participated in the exhibition. Te expo brought together the largest domestic and foreign manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, hardware and software, mobile and fixed-line operators, developers and suppliers of high-tech products, security systems, smart solutions and services for the mass and corporate segment.

The exposition "Belarus - the country of digital opportunities” occupied the central place at the international forum. It featured innovative ICT developments of government agencies and Belarusian IT companies and the areas of their application in various fields of activity. The exhibition includes thematic zones such as "Digital Opportunities for the State and the Citizen," "Digital Opportunities for Living in a Modern City (Smart City)," "Digital Business Opportunities," and "Digital Opportunities for Everyone."

Apart from individual stands the expo hosted collective stands of the Education Ministry, Industry Ministry, State Committee for Science and Technology, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Minsk City Technopark, St. Petersburg Export Promotion Center and also special sections Educational Alley, Innovation Arena, 100 Ideas for Belarus.

The forum's business program included 34 thematic events, including the 3rd Eurasian Digital Forum, the 4th Belarusian ICT Summit, the Digital Economy Forum, the International Telecommunication Union workshop “5G (IMT-2020) networks launch and operation experience”, and others. The business program was attended by 4823 executives and specialists (2166 - offline, 2657 - online) from 17 countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Germany, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania, Russia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, UAE). Domestic and foreign experts, representatives of government agencies and business communities analyzed international experience and discussed topical issues of digital transformation of the economy, social sector, and public administration system.

The organizers announced the results of TIBO 2021 Internet Award, which featured 502 Belarusian internet resources in 12 nominations, and Belarus ICT Startup Award that comprised 180 projects in two nominations. The Belarusian national selection stage of the 5th International Scratch Olympiad for creative programming among schoolchildren included 466 projects in 10 categories.

The exhibition was visited by more than 28,000 representatives of all levels of government authorities, international organizations and diplomatic missions, professional and business associations, public and private research companies and mass media, of which 1,231 students from higher, secondary technical and secondary educational institutions.

International and national experts lauded the high level of organization of the forum's business program and the expositions, the Communications and Informatization Ministry stressed.

The 27th international forum on information and communications technologies TIBO 2021 took place in Minsk on 1-4 June. The forum was organized by the Communications and Informatization Ministry with the participation of representatives of the government, business, professional and scientific community, international experts.
