MOSCOW, 3 November (BelTA) – Three citizens of Belarus were killed in the An-12 plane crash near Irkutsk, Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
According to the diplomatic mission, there were seven people on board the aircraft belonging to the Grodno airline. “Unfortunately, according to the available information, they died. Among them were three citizens of the Republic of Belarus,” the embassy said.
The embassy is keeping in touch with Russia's Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergency Situations and Liquidation of Consequences of Natural Disasters, law enforcement agencies and local authorities. “The circumstances of the disaster are being thrashed out, which is complicated by the dark time of day and unfavorable weather conditions,” the diplomatic mission added.
