MINSK, 4 December (BelTA) - The CSTO is gearing up up celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War next year, CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov said at a press conference, BelTA learned.
“Celebration of the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War is of exceptional importance. The multinational people of the once united large state were able to defeat fascism and defend freedom. Naturally, we are now witnessing certain tendencies when they seek to whitewash fascism, rewrite history and revise the outcome of World War II,” Imangali Tasmagambetov said.
Speaking about the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory, the CSTO chief noted that the plan of events under the auspices of the organization includes conferences, international sporting events, joint exhibitions. “At the end of the meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council Russian President Vladimir Putin invited the heads of state to take part in the Victory Parade to be held on 9 May 2025,” Imangali Tasmagambetov added.
