GRODNO, 12 November (BelTA) – The Svitanok sports and recuperation center is getting ready to accommodate refugee children in case it is designated for this purpose, Grodno Oblast Deputy Governor Viktor Pranyuk told BelTA.
“The facility is vacant now. Up to 200 people can be accommodated there. If necessary, medical assistance will be provided, too,” Viktor Pranyuk said.
Svitanok is located near the agro-town of Porechye, Grodno District. The preparation of the facility is underway.
A reminder, at the meeting with senior officials of the Council of Ministers on 11 November Aleksandr Lukashenko set a task to help refugee children, their mothers and pregnant women stranded on the Belarus-Poland border.
“Maybe we could ask them to give their children to us. We would place them in our sanatoriums. Perhaps together with mothers. Pregnant women and children are the number one issue. We cannot abandon them. Especially children. We would at least be able to provide them with a shower and food there,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
