MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – The Belarus president’s Press Secretary Natalya Eismont has commented on the public’s response to the premiere of the Ballad of the Dictator song during a patriotic forum held in Minsk Arena on 17 September, BelTA has learned. The official made the statements on the air of the First News TV channel.
The reporter asked Natalya Eismont whether she was tracking the response to the premiere. “I wouldn’t put it like that. Certainly, we keep an eye on it. If we talk about the response, we already see that it is strong. We look at the comments,” the press secretary said.
Speaking about comments about the song, Natalya Eismont mentioned the one comment she believes to be most remarkable. The commenter noted that the authorities had allegedly stolen the bogeyman of dictatorship from the opposition. “Well, what can I say? We have stolen it. You should have hidden it better,” she noted as a joke.
