MOSCOW, 3 November (BelTA) – The State Dance Company of Belarus will present its solo program The Land under White Wings in Moscow on 10 November, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
The dance company will perform on the stage of the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. The concert will be timed to the 55th anniversary of the company.
The State Dance Company of Belarus is the country's oldest professional dance company. Over 25 years the team has been led by Artistic Director, famous choreographer, Belarus' People's Artist Professor Valentin Dudkevich. He sees his mission in the promotion of Belarusian folk dance, which is one of the most important elements of the national culture. The choreographer seeks to develop his own signature style and constantly looks for new original interpretations of folklore themes.
Today the State Dance Company of Belarus offers spectacular concert programs consisting of Belarusian traditional and modern dances. The recent productions of the company include the Krivichi dance that reflects the folklore symbols of ring and fire; the Lyanok round dance show; the Barbara duet about the eternal mystery of relations between a man and a woman; the Lyavonikha dance to the music of Yevgeny Glebov. The dance company has toured half of the world. They have been to Asia and Africa, Europe and the Middle East, the United States and Latin America. In recent years the company has given several concerts in China, Italy and Lithuania, as well as Armenia, Kazakhstan, North Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
