St. Petersburg to host CIS IPA spring session in April  

MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) - The CIS IPA spring session will be held at Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg (the headquarters of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly) on 17-18 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council.

On 17 April,  Tauride Palace will host meetings of the CIS IPA commissions: the Joint Commission on Harmonization of Legislation in Security and Countering New Challenges and Threats, the Standing Commission on Defense and Security, and the Standing Commission on Political Affairs and International Cooperation. The same day will see a conference on “Legislative Regulation of Countering the Use of Artificial Intelligence and New Technologies for Terrorist Purposes” co-organized by the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office and the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The heads of parliamentary delegations will hold a meeting of the CIS IPA Council on that day. 

A solemn ceremony of laying flowers and wreaths at the Piskaryovskoye Memorial on 18 April will bring together the heads of parliaments of the CIS countries and representatives of partner international delegations.

On the same day, the 58th plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly will open at Tauride Palace. 

The CIS MPs and distinguished guests of the Assembly will take part in the solemn meeting of the IPA CIS dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
