MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – The speed of mobile access to the Internet will increase by four times on the average. Belarusian Communications and Informatization Minister Kirill Zalessky made the statement at a session of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress on 19 December, BelTA has learned.
Kirill Zalessky underlined that the Communications and Informatization Ministry is aware that citizens would like faster access to the Internet via wired and mobile communication technologies. “The speed of mobile Internet access will increase by four times on the average within the next five years. The first 5G mobile communication zone has been commissioned in Minsk ahead of our session,” the official said.
“The digital agenda in the program for the next five-year term is the foundation of Belarus as an advanced and modern state,” the communications and informatization minister emphasized.
The second session of the 7th Belarusian People’s Congress is taking place in Minsk. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko made an address to the nation and the parliament on the first day of the session. Participants of the session are expected to review the program on Belarus’ social and economic development in 2026-2030 on the second day.
