MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) - The European Union directly interferes in elections of the countries that do not support its course, independent observer Angeles Maestro from Spain said in an interview with BelTA.
"I am ashamed of the voting in the European Parliament. Even before the presidential election [in Belarus], the EU found it illegitimate and called not to recognize it. The European Union directly interferes in elections in those countries that do not support its course. The events in Moldova, Georgia, Romania, and Slovakia can serve as examples. The EU is also involved in the events in Ukraine. If we read the news, we will find out that many members of the European Parliament are accused of corruption. This is the most corrupt parliament in the world," Angeles Maestro said.
She also slammed the articles in the European media, which criticize the Belarusian leader.
"There are no independent mass media left in Spain. All mainstream media are owned and financed by the 'big three' US shareholders [investment companies BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street]. These media may claim to be right-wing or left-wing, but they promote the same narratives. Free and independent journalism has almost disappeared in Spain," the observer said.
