MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - Belarus is a democratic country, Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane, the Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces of the Republic of South Africa, observer of the Pan-African Parliament, told BelTA.
“In Belarus we have been welcomed very warmly. We see that Belarus is a democratic country. People are ready to interact. Today we will definitely go to the polling stations and talk to voters to find out their sentiments. First of all, we will pay attention to the compliance of electoral processes with the Constitution of Belarus and the Electoral Code,” Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane said.
“The fact that we have received an invitation to monitor the election speaks a lot because some countries do not allow international observers at all,” she noted.
