VITEBSK, 10 July (BelTA) – Slavianski Bazaar has become part of DNA of Vitebsk residents, Director General of the Vitebsk Culture Center, Director of the International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk Gleb Lapitsky told the media, BelTA learned.
Gleb Lapitsky stressed that the festival is his life. “Any person born in Vitebsk has Slavianski Bazaar as part of their DNA. Whenever we have a problem, we ask a question: ‘Do you imagine Vitebsk without Slavianski Bazaar?’ The answer is no. I can say for the whole city of Vitebsk that the festival is part of our cultural code,” the head of the festival noted.

He also noted that young people play an important role in preserving cultural heritage. At the Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Nizhny Novgorod, we talked about preserving the historical memory and the role of young people, and my colleagues and I crystallized the following formula: in our time, when we chase barcodes and QR codes, it is important not to lose our genetic code. And young people need to carry this genetic code,” Gleb Lapitsky said.
