MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) - The information about the fascists and their accomplices who committed crimes in the Belarusian territory during the Great Patriotic War will be shared with the public, Belarusian Prosecutor General Andrei Shved told the media, BelTA has learned.
"We are completing the work related to identifying the punitive units. Our goal is to establish the name of every fascist and their accomplices who were engaged in the crimes against the civilian population in the Belarusian territory since July 1941. These data will be shared with the public. This is very important. Everyone should know the name of every fascist who has blood on his hands. Their descendants should understand that people can request the official data and get the information," Andrei Shved said.
The prosecutor general also recalled that the head of state gave an instruction to prepare a case file and share it with foreign states and prosecutors general of the International Association of Prosecutors. The work on this instruction is currently being completed. "These are 183 countries. Each of the prosecutors general and the officials who will be determined by the head of state will get the case file, in English and Russian, about the scale, forms and methods of the genocide that took place here during the Great Patriotic War," he said.
The House of Representatives, the lower house of the Belarusian Parliament, hosted the roundtable "Historical Memory: Genocide of the Belarusian People" on 7 December. It was attended by representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Defense Ministry, the National Academy of Sciences, the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Research and the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus.
