Shelling civilian infrastructure described as Kiev’s strategy

MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) -  Strikes on civilian targets are the policy and strategy of the Kiev regime, regardless of who is at the head of it, military and political observer Mikhail Onufriyenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.

"If we talk about strikes on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, then, like any other strikes on civilian targets by the Kiev junta, they are irrational. We are always trying (this is normal for the human psyche) to evaluate and understand, but every time we are guided by our own system of values. The enemy's is fundamentally different. For ten years, Kiev has been shelling the civilian infrastructure of Donbass, but at the same time it continues to cry the lack of shells, missiles and everything else," Mikhail Onufriyenko said.

At the same time, the military expert noted, with the outbreak of hostilities, these strikes became much more intense. "Every month, sometimes several times a month, I visit Donetsk, the frontline territories. I know very well (as well as the locals, as well as the enemy) that there are no military units in the center of Donetsk. The same is true for Gorlovka and any other settlement. Nevertheless, they shell schools, hospitals and other facilities constantly," he stressed.

According to Mikhail Onufriyenko, by 2015, according to statistics, 70% of churches on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic were damaged or destroyed. "I have been to a lot of them. As a rule, they stand separately from any other structures. You can hit them only on purpose. This is the policy and strategy of the Kiev regime, regardless of who is at the head of it. Nothing changes, not even the rhetoric. Poroshenko also came on the peace platform and later on began bombing the center of the then absolutely peaceful Lugansk," Mikhail Onufriyenko noted.
