Sergeyenko: Previous Parliament has laid groundwork for the future

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) - The previous Parliament has laid the serious groundwork for the future, Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko said at the first sitting of the first session of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation, BelTA has learned.

 "Yesterday in this hall, the president gave a rather high opinion of the previous Parliament, which laid the groundwork for the future," said Igor Sergeyenko. 

According to him, the new House of Representatives intends to observe the principle of continuity, preserve and build on all the best practices and experience. "For the first time the new Parliament will work in the Belarusian People's Congress in its constitutional status, and we will need to develop our own mechanism of engagement in the work of this body," added Igor Sergeyenko.
