MINSK, 29 January (BelTA) - The presidential election in Belarus was open and democratic, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko said at a meeting with the authors of the Our President book in the Oval Hall of the Government House on 29 January, BelTA has learned.
“The election was held openly, democratically, in accordance with the national legislation. This is confirmed by the authoritative and unanimous opinion of tens of thousands of national and hundreds of international observers, from different countries and continents,” Igor Sergeyenko said.
“MPs made their contribution to ensuring the consolidation of society during this period. Extensive work has been done in all regions. Only in January 2025 MPs held about 2,200 meetings with labor collectives, the participants of which were our voters,” the speaker said. “The MPs took an active part in national and regional social and political events, acted as observers at the election. The whole spectrum of communication channels, including mass media, social networks, and others were used to work with the population.”
Today, at the initiative of the MPs of the House of Representatives, we are holding a meeting in the Oval Hall of the Government House with the authors of the Our President book, which was published in the run-up to the presidential election, Igor Sergeyenko said. “It is very symbolic that this meeting is taking place today, when the Belarusian people have given the incumbent head of state high confidence, having confirmed their commitment to the course of building a strong and sovereign Belarus,” the chairman of the House of Representatives said. “The new look of the country created over the years of independence predetermined the voting results. They clearly show that Aleksandr Lukashenko is indeed our president. Let me congratulate the president and all of us on this victory and thank our voters for their unity and wisdom.”
