MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) – Belarus is among the top ten suppliers of high-quality food products to China, Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko said during a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan in Minsk on 24 October, BelTA has learned.
Belarus-China trade and economic relations are gaining momentum. "Belarus is one of the top ten suppliers of high-quality food products to China. The range of products is expanding. A few years ago, we could not imagine this. But now it is a reality," the speaker emphasized.
"Belarus is involved in a number of initiatives and strategic infrastructure projects that connect our regions. I refer to the China-Belarus Industrial Park, the project that is being developed thanks to China's Belt and Road Initiative. We expect that other Chinese companies will join this rapidly growing project. Just a few years ago it was an undeveloped forested area near Minsk, but today there are dozens of industrial enterprises there," Igor Sergeyenko said.

He recalled that Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang paid an official visit to Belarus in late August. "The parties signed a significant package of documents for cooperation in trade, investment, industry, science and technology. Belarus has drawn up a protocol of instructions to implement all the agreements reached between the two prime ministers," he added.
