MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev will lead the CIS election observation mission to monitor the elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. His candidacy was approved by the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiary Representatives of the CIS Member Nations at the Statutory and other Bodies of the Commonwealth, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
By decree of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, the elections to the House of Representatives of the National Assembly and local Councils of Deputies are scheduled for 25 February 2024. The CIS election observation mission will monitor the elections at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.
