MINSK, 17 November (BelTA) - The refugee situation at the border must be resolved and the initiative must come from those who created the situation, Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic Sergei Rachkov said on the air of the ONT TV channel on 17 November, BelTA has learned.
"The initiative should come from those who created this situation," Sergei Rachkov said.
The senator stressed that Belarus is ready to talk. "The head of state always takes a very constructive position. He has already voiced several such ideas on how to resolve this situation. In my opinion, the European Union needs to interact with the official Belarusian authorities," he added.
