MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus Ksenia Sankovich unveiled details of the large-scale sports and entertainment show Time of Our Victories, which will be held in Minsk on Saturday, 7 December, BelTA has learned.
Attending the event will be Belarusian athletes and artists, guests from Russia and China. The show will be divided into 12 thematic sections, each of which will include several performances. This is the first project of such scale. The organizers call it experimental. Invitations to Minsk Arena were distributed mostly among young people.
"Belarus has already hosted such shows starting from 1999, when the stars of the world rhythmic gymnastics came to Minsk to compete. At the end of the competition, they took part in a large spectacular festival. Nowadays such events are also organized at the end of the competitions, but the scale has decreased over time. Sports and entertainment shows are organized all over the world. There are a lot of them in Russia and Europe. We decided that we can make a show in Belarus, because we have everything for this: arenas, equipment and, most importantly, athletes - the world's best gymnasts and trampolinists, great acrobats. Belarus has never hosted the show that we will see on Saturday," Ksenia Sankovich said.
According to her, the main message of the event is that one should act here and now, one should not wait for another moment to start loving, inspiring and creating. "Each performance will be unique, the program is very diverse. The main idea will be expressed through choreographic elements. When we want to convey an idea, we may say it or sing it, but it is much more difficult to do it in the language of dance. A lot of young people will be involved. They are the future of our country, and we want to show that everything is in their hands. Nobody will do anything for us. Only we alone can build our future, and this time has come," Ksenia Sankovich emphasized.
The Time of Our Victories show will feature representatives of rhythmic gymnastics, trampoline, tumbling track, acrobatic gymnastics, and another sports, which is still kept secret. Among the participants are two-time Olympic champion Ivan Litvinovich and world and European champion Alina Harnasko. In addition, the organizers want to emphasize the idea of inclusiveness, so young people with disabilities will also take part in the event. In total, the show will involve more than 700 people, including 400 athletes.
