Russia’s Dagestan Republic to host CIS international tourism forum in October

MINSK, 2 September (BelTA) – The international tourism forum CIS Travel Hub will take place in Dagestan, Russia on 1-3 October 2025, BelTA has learned.

The international forum in Dagestan will address key questions for the sector, including the future level of mountain hiking in the CIS, the requirements for successful ecotourism development, and the necessary personnel for the industry. The event will bring together representatives of authorities, businesses, professional associations, educational institutions, and media from the Commonwealth of Independent States and other countries.

The forum is held within the framework of the Year of Mountain Tourism in the CIS, and this theme will be central to the program. Participants will engage in a dialogue on how to develop the hotel industry, improve the quality of hotel service, train personnel for tourism and creative sectors, maintain a balance of interests between wilderness and humans, develop cross-border ecotourism in the CIS, and discuss the efficiency of interregional and international travel cooperation.

Experts will have to develop specific joint projects and recommendations.

CIS Travel Hub is organized by the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly. The main goal is not only to increase tourist traffic within the region but also to strengthen intercultural and economic ties, revealing the rich cultural and natural potential of each country. The forum has already established itself as an effective platform for cooperation. In 2024, it was held in Dushanbe, and previously the project operated in St. Petersburg. This year, Dagestan hosts CIS Travel Hub.

Earlier, the CIS Tourism Council recommended that government agencies and tourism organizations consider the CIS Travel Hub project as a platform for cooperation, creation, and promotion of joint tourism projects and routes in the CIS countries.
