MINSK, 30 January (BelTA) – The BRICS expansion will benefit all its member states and will contribute to a more just multipolar world order, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said, TASS reported.

He recalled that in January 2024, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia became full members of the BRICS group. “All BRICS member states will benefit from this important step. Without exaggeration, it can be called a turning point in the history of our association,” Sergey Ryabkov said.

The deputy minister noted that the expanded BRICS will contribute to building a new, more equal and just multipolar world order, which will better reflect the reality in the international arena.

Ryabkov also reaffirmed Moscow's commitment to preserving the spirit of BRICS and ensuring succession and consistency of cooperation. According to him, one of the priorities of Russia's BRICS chairmanship in 2024 will be the development of economic ties between the BRICS countries. Moreover, Moscow will pay special attention to the development of artificial intelligence.
