MOSCOW, 2 April (BelTA) - The positive momentum remains even amid the pandemic thanks to Belarus' presidency in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov said at an enlarged session of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Moscow on 2 April, BelTA has learned.
The meeting was held in person. “The pandemic has certainly made serious adjustments to our work and has become a test for the CIS. However, despite all the difficulties, we have managed to maintain the positive dynamics of interaction, largely thanks to the efforts of the Belarusian presidency,” Sergey Lavrov said.
In his words, the CIS foreign ministers exchanged views on regional and international security issues and the prospects of cooperation in the CIS. “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our Belarusian friends on the start of the presidency in the CIS,” Sergey Lavrov said.
