MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – A single voting day is convenient both for candidates and voters, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Central Election Commission Nikolai Bulaev said during a meeting with Chairman of the Belarusian Central Election Commission Igor Karpenko in Minsk on 23 February, BelTA has learned.
"Russia has had a single voting day for a long time. It is convenient in terms of organization and is also convenient for both candidates and voters. I'm not a big fan of giving advice to my colleagues when I come to their polls. In my opinion, every country has the right to work with the standards that have a tradition or are popular at a particular point in time. From my experience, I can say that a single voting day is convenient," Nikolai Bulaev said.
According to the deputy chairman of the Russian CEC, citizens need to make a balanced and informed decision. "It can be very difficult to correct a mistake made during elections. Therefore, it is important to weigh everything, think it over and make a choice," he stressed.
