Russian ambassador compares terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall with Khatyn tragedy

MINSK, 22 March (BelTA) - Russian Ambassador to Belarus Boris Gryzlov compared the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall with the tragedy in Khatyn, BelTA has learned.

"It's a terrible tragedy. Bandits, fascists with weapons staged this terrorist attack. 22 March is the day of Khatyn. And we see that Khatyn is repeating itself: killing those who tried to leave and setting fire to those who remained. That's why I compare it with Khatyn. Those who took part in this will certainly be found and eliminated," the diplomat said.

He thanked Belarusians who came to the embassy in Minsk at this late hour: “Russians and Belarusians stand united. We are brothers and we support each other. The fact that so many Belarusians came to the Russian embassy today speaks of the unity of our peoples.”
Ambassador Boris Gryzlov also believes it necessary for the UN to give its assessment of the terrorist attack: “Unfortunately, they often avoid making assessments. Many states have already expressed their condolences to our authorities. Now it is the UN’s turn. We hope that the UN will condemn this terrorist attack. We will do our best to make this happen.”
