MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) - Irkutsk, Russia hosted the 12th meeting of the Joint Board of the Emergencies Ministries of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia on 24 September, the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry told BelTA.

“Natural and man-made disasters continue to dominate the global agenda. New challenges demand the pooling of efforts and knowledge, and the search for new solutions. The Joint Board is the main format of cooperation between our countries in protecting people and territories from emergencies. It strengthens ties between the rescue agencies of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, expands professional contacts, and multiplies the vast experience we have accumulated over years of joint work,” Belarusian Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky said in his address.

He highlighted successful cooperation in monitoring compliance with Eurasian Economic Union technical regulations, developing scientific and educational potential, and improving the professionalism and readiness of rescue services. He also stressed the importance of continuing practice-oriented cooperation and expressed Belarus’ readiness to share its advanced expertise in emergency response, rescue training, supervisory and preventive activities, public engagement, and building a culture of safety.

“The next meeting of the Joint Board will take place on Belarusian soil, in the picturesque and historic city of Gomel. I am confident it will make an important contribution to the security of our countries, raise preparedness for emergencies, and, in keeping with tradition, further strengthen the ties between our agencies,” the minister noted.

The meeting also addressed safety on water bodies, emergency response in road transport, fire safety oversight, and technical regulation within the Emergencies Ministry system. As a result, priority areas of cooperation for 2026 were defined and a joint action plan was approved.
