A reliable foundation of cooperation in this case is not a cliché but a very specific image. Many iconic buildings in Minsk such as the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War or the Palace of Independence rest on the foundations made using the concrete produced by the famous Minskzhelezobeton company. Today the building materials produced by the industry's flagship are used to build the Minsk World multifunctional complex, Minsk's largest investment project. The volumes are growing!
Representatives of Dana Holdings and Minskzhelezobeton decided to meet directly in the Minsk World complex. First they talked in the office, and then went to see the huge construction site to assess the scale of work. The main topic of discussion was increasing the volume of supplies.
Today, Minskzhelezobeton is the country's largest producer of building materials and landscaping elements. In the last 45 years no facility in Minsk has been built without the company's products, said the company's chief engineer Aleksandr Eismont.
“When such a large developer as Dana Holdings came to the market, we couldn't help but start working together. We started working together in 2012. Over the time our company has supplied to this developer's sites products in the amount of 130,000 cubic meters worth of more than $13 million,” said Aleksandr Eismont.
The chief engineer emphasizes that the cooperation between the two leading companies has developed exponentially - the volume of deliveries has been constantly growing.
“In 2020, we sold 38,000 cubic meters of products to Dana Holdings. For our company it is about 9% of the total output. Such a large and reliable customer is really a strategic partner for us,” Aleksandr Eismont said.
Minskzhelezobeton considers cooperation with Dana Holdings to be not only mutually beneficial but also successful in terms of reliability and stability.
“There are no such moments in our relations which can be often found with other construction organizations - I mean late payments. There are certain payment agreements and they are always respected. It is also important that the orders are stable throughout the year. It is clear that in winter there are restrictions on monolithic concrete or landscaping processes, but we get regular orders from this developer. It is both pleasant and financially profitable to work with such a large customer as Dana Holdings,” said Aleksandr Eismont.
According to Director of Dana Astra Pavel Ovcharov, Minskzhelezobeton supplies the company with a wide range of products, for example, prefabricated reinforced concrete, including stoppings and ventilation bricks, LECA blocks, piles, elements of facades and walls, and paving slabs.
“Minskzhelezobeton is one of the leaders in the sector, it produces high-quality products and we have had nothing to complain about. All supplies are on schedule, in line with the contracts, which is why we are keen to expand our cooperation. I want to point out that in the construction of the Minsk World complex, the share of Belarusian construction materials was almost 98%. We hire only Belarusian construction organizations. This means that the implementation of this large-scale investment project creates tens of thousands new jobs across the country and benefits many enterprises of the construction industry as we have hundreds of contractors,” Pavel Ovcharov stressed.
In the course of the past five years, the construction site of the Minsk World complex has become unrecognizable. New houses tower along the perimeter of the complex, both commissioned and non-finished. Work is underway to lay our streets and landscape the territory of the quarters. Minsk residents have notices many times that the complex is bustling with activity even at night.
"At present work is in progress in all the quarters. Over 65 facilities are being built at the same time, including the International Financial Center. We are ahead of schedule and intend to finish most of the work by 2024. This is why we are interested in reliable suppliers, who know how to deliver quality products on time. In 2020 we more than tripled purchases from Minskzhelezobeton. It means that the investment project Minsk World develops very actively. In 2021 we intend to increase purchases by another 50% in comparison with 2020,” Pavel Ovcharov stressed.
By the way, it turned out that the meeting of the strategic partners helped not only adjust plans of future deliveries but determine new kinds of products the real estate developer is interested in.
Pavel Ovcharov went on saying: “We agreed to use reinforcement cages that are needed for monolithic construction. Apart from that, we discussed the possibility of shipping an innovative product of Minskzhelezobeton to Minsk World: special tiles for bicycle tracks, which are manufactured with a narrow beveled edge. It allows placing the tiles without a drastic transition from one tile to another. It will be a pleasure to ride a bicycle on such tiles or skate on them. By the way, bicycle tracks, which are very popular with all the healthy lifestyle fans, will connect all the quarters of the complex and will be a prominent feature of our project.”
The partners shook hands to reinforce the agreements that had been reached. The future cooperation of the leaders relies on a solid foundation. Without an exaggeration.
