GRODNO, 20 December (BelTA) – We hope that Europeans may take a different look at our situation following the revelations of the Polish soldier, one of the refugees told BelTA on 18 December.
18 December was the 41st day of refugees' plight on the Belarusian-Polish border. They are living in the temporary accommodation facility set up at the Bruzgi logistics hub near the border. At present, there are about 700 people there; there are many women and children among them. Three women have given birth here. All of them are refusing to return home and are not losing hope of getting to Germany or other EU countries. People also follow the news closely.
"We read everything that concerns us and our situation. We also saw the news about a Polish soldier who asked for asylum in Belarus. We read that he told about the cruel treatment of refugees. Perhaps all this will force Europe to look at the situation from a different angle. We hope that our situation will be resolved safely," the refugee said.
