GRODNO, 27 December (BelTA) - Refugees are not losing hope for the successful resolution of their situation, one of them told BelTA.
27 December is the 50th day of refugees at the border. Now they are living in the accommodation facility in the Bruzgi transport and logistics center near the Belarusian-Polish border. There are about 600 people here, many women and children among them.
“Mostly these are families who have decided to stay here. For example, I have three children. We cannot return to Iraq for safety reasons. We are thankful to Belarus, appreciate all the help and support it provides us. But it is still very difficult to live like this for a long time. Hope is the only thing that supports us, gives us the strength to wait. We hope that the West will hear us, take note of our situation and let us in," the man said. He emphasizes that those who remained in the transport and logistics center simply have nowhere to return.
He also said that many families were separated: some have parents in the European Union, others - children or siblings. "We are waiting for some miracle, we are not losing hope to reunite with our families," the refugee said.
