Refugee: I want to get to Germany, I have no prospects in Iraq

GRODNO, 29 November (BelTA) - Everyone here wants to go to Germany, and I am no exception, there are no prospects for us in our home country, one of the refugees from a temporary accommodation center told BelTA.

28 November marked the 21st day for refugees at the border. They continue to stay at the temporary accommodation facility in the transport and logistics center near the Bruzgi checkpoint.

“What are we waiting for? I, like everyone else here, want to go to Germany. I don't consider any other options. I'm not going back to Iraq. There are simply no prospects for me there. There are a lot of problems there. I'm 27 years old, and I still haven't received a proper education or a profession. Many people there are literally on the verge of survival,” said the young man. He added that Belarus did not stand aside to the problems of the people.

“Today we are provided with everything we need. There is a roof over our heads, food, water, warm clothes. Thank you for that,” he said. The refugee stressed that he hoped for a speedy resolution of the issue, for the opening of a humanitarian corridor to Germany.
