Many refugees have decided to try to get to Europe for the sake of their children's future, a refugee from Iraq told BelTA.
Refugees have been staying on the Belarus-Poland border for 30 days already. They are living in a temporary accommodation facility at the transportation and logistics center near the Bruzgi border crossing point. Most of the refugees are Iraqi citizens. Among them is a man named Baha who is staying on the border with his large family. “There are seven of us in the accommodation center. Me, my wife, two children, other family members. We do not give up on our hopes of getting to Europe. It is all done for the sake of the children. In Iraq I cannot find a job, I cannot provide for them, I cannot give them education,” the man said. The family does not want to go back to Iraq, he said.
“I also want to thank Belarus. It is very cold now. It is snowing. It was really difficult to stay in the camp in the woods. Here we have a roof over our heads and have everything we need,” the man said.
Refugees staying in the logistics center get hot meals and grocery packages, warm clothes and hygiene kits. Medics are on standby 24/7. There is also a mobile bath house nearby.
