GRODNO, 18 November (BelTA) - Refugees have left their makeshift camp at the border, but they still hope for the opening of a humanitarian corridor, one of the refugees accommodated in the logistics center told BelTA.
The refugees have left their makeshift camps near the Bruzgi border checkpoint and at the very line of the Polish border. They have moved to a temporary accommodation center set up at the border transportation and logistics center. Here they are provided with hot meals, drinking water, warm sleeping places and a change of clothes. There is even a mobile shop and a vaccination center there.
“We are provided with everything we need. The conditions are very good compared to sleeping on the ground and under the open sky on the border. We left that place for the sake of our health, but we have not lost hope of getting to Europe. We are looking forward to the opening of the border or a humanitarian corridor. We hope that the situation will be resolved in our favor. I personally want to go to Germany,” the refugee said. He stressed that neither he nor his relatives wanted to return to Iraqi Kurdistan.
The man asked the journalists about the latest news. He added that the refugees have been monitoring the negotiations closely.
