Belarus has created favorable conditions for young people to enter colleges and choose blue-collar jobs, said Andrei Dylyuk, a teacher at the Brest State College of Communications and a delegate to the VII Belarusian People’s Congress.

Reviewing the draft social and economic development program for the next five years, he focused on areas related to his professional field. According to him, the prestige of vocational professions is steadily rising, and more teenagers choose colleges because the economy clearly demands workers with specialized and vocational training.

Enrollment in secondary specialized institutions grows every year, and admission is competitive. The number of employer-sponsored programs is increasing. Students are highly motivated and understand the direct link between education and future opportunities.

The new five-year program prioritizes developing human potential, strengthening practice-oriented training, improving vocational education, and raising the status of teachers. Andrei Dylyuk stresses that youth will play a decisive role in the country’s future, and they need support: from practical training to mentorship and open dialogue.

Tourism is also among the program’s priorities. As a certified tour guide, Andrei Dylyuk noted the growing interest in Belarus and sees tourism as both an economic opportunity and a way to preserve cultural heritage.

Speaking about the Belarusian People’s Congress, he said he is going with a clear mind and full awareness of his responsibility. Ahead of the session, he studied the draft program in detail and discussed it with fellow delegates, colleagues, and students. On 28 November, Andrei Dylyuk and other delegates from Brest Oblast met with Belarus’ Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar, who presented the main provisions of the document. Public interest in the Congress, the delegate stressed, has always been high.

The motto of the first session, Time Chose Us, remains relevant, Andrei Dylyuk believes. Each generation faces its own challenges, and today’s period requires balanced decisions. Delegates must understand their role and take part in discussions as responsibly as possible, realizing they are part of the country and part of a larger national team, he said.
