MINSK, 24 September (BelTA) – Not a single organizer and not a single participant of unauthorized rallies will avoid responsibility. Belarus' Prosecutor General Andrei Shved made the statement before a session of the national coordinating conference on fight against crime and corruption began on 24 September, BelTA has learned.
The official said that the overall crime situation is absolutely under control. The crime rate of most kinds of crime is declining. “It means that in addition to tackling today's complicated tasks, challenges and threats Belarusian law enforcement agencies don't forget about keeping crime under total and rigorous control. As for public order in the nation's capital and other populated localities, you can see that the situation is under control. It's getting better every day. All the guilty individuals will be punished sooner or later,” Andrei Shved said.
The prosecutor general made it clear: “Not a single blogger, not a single person who has committed a crime not only during unauthorized rallies but online will be able to avoid responsibility. We are working very hard now to identify such individuals and bring them to justice. Within the next few months the general public will be informed about results of this work at open court trials of a number of criminal cases. Taking into account the incontestable evidence we've received, you will see that law enforcement agencies will only step up efforts to suppress and detect such crimes.”
