Project activities of UN agencies in Belarus amid sanctions discussed in Minsk

MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) - Irina Velichko, the head of the Central Office of Multilateral Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, met with executives of the UNDP, UNICEF, UNFPA and WHO offices accredited in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The parties discussed the project activities of UN agencies in Belarus, including in the context of the sanctions policy by Western countries. Consideration was given to the status of the projects aimed at helping Belarus achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in accordance with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and also to the prospects for cooperation in this area.

The partied reaffirmed the need to preserve and maintain the national architecture for SDGs in Belarus and agreed to to intensify joint work in this direction.
