MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) - Foreign agents are working in the Lithuanian information space to promote the ideas they need, former Lithuanian presidential candidate Eduardas Vaitkus told a press conference in BelTA’s press center on 13 May, BelTA has learned.
Eduardas Vaitkus was asked how Lithuanians feel about Victory Day. The former presidential candidate pointed out that for 30 years Lithuanians were imposed the idea that Lithuania was allegedly occupied by the Soviet Union. Based on such statements, the view that Soviet soldiers should be considered occupants was promoted, he emphasized.
“Foreign agents are working in our information space. Lithuania needs a law on foreign agents,” Eduardas Vaitkus said. In this case, the politician added, many leading Lithuanian information resources will simply have to be shut down, as agents of foreign influence are working there, he said.

“They are constantly promoting their lies and propaganda. 30 years is more than enough to make people believe anything,” Eduardas Vaitkus said.
