Polish travel experts to visit Brest Oblast on 15-17 February

MINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Representatives of 22 Polish tour operators will go to Brest Oblast on 15-17 February on a promo tour, BelTA has learned from Denis Nikityuk, the head of the tourism section of the sport and tourism department at the Brest Oblast Executive Committee.

Representatives of tour operators from Warsaw, Olsztyn, Poznan, Gdyn, Bialystok, Lublin will explore the tourism opportunities of the south-western region of Belarus. The promo tour will focus on hotels and other accommodation facilities.

During the visit, Belarusian and Polish specialists will discuss bilateral relations, tourism market trends, and ways to increase the flow of tourists to Brest Oblast. The guests will study the program of Brest's millennium celebrations, go on a tour around the city and visit several companies. The program of the visit also includes trips to Kamenets District, Kobrin District, Pruzhany District, and Ivatsevichi District.

“Ivatsevichi District and Kobrin District are part of the visa-free zone. We will inform our partners about accommodation facilities, key tourist attractions, available tours and other opportunities,” Denis Nikityuk noted. He added that Polish tourists take great interest in nostalgic tourism as the two countries share common heritage. “I should also mention the role of agrotourism which is the main advantage of the Brest Oblast tourism industry. We will outline activities timed to various events, offers by health resorts, measures to develop industrial tourism,” he said.

Last year, 18,500 tourists visited Brest Oblast without visas, 13,000 of whom came from Poland. Since the start of 2019, the region has already welcome 2,000 tourists which was thrice as many as in the same period of last year.
