MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) - Losses in revenues of the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) due to the ban on flights over Belarus may amount to 3-5%, PANSA CEO Janusz Januszewski said, according to the Polish website wpn.pl.
"The structure of the movement is actually changing throughout Europe in the wake of the restrictions imposed on Belarus by European countries," Janusz Januszewski said, adding that it has an appreciable effect on Poland.
PANSA lives on the fees levied on airlines for providing air navigation services to the aircraft that land and take off at Polish airports and fly through the country's airspace.
"After the initial estimates of the situation, we can say that our potential losses in revenues will be about 3-5% during the period these restrictions will be in place. This is due to the fact that the biggest passenger planes, which carry the most people, have starting flying via northern Europe, which led to the loss of traffic," Janusz Januszewski explained.
The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA) is the only agency in the country that trains and hires air traffic controllers. It provides service 24/7. PANSA is also responsible for the Polish airspace and aviation infrastructure, which it creates and develops. The agency, in particular, operates radar system, aeronautical equipment, communications systems and landing assistance systems.
