MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) — Polish engineer Bartlomiej Grzelec explained how ordinary Poles treat President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko in an interview with Polish former judge Tomasz Szmydt in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
"It depends. I think that some part of the Polish society respects Aleksandr Lukashenko because he keeps order in Belarus and because he has not sold the country to Western globalists and corporations. The other part, which has no idea how the economy works, is definitely affected by propaganda. It has been already mentioned many times. It does not matter whether there is a democracy, authoritarianism or so-called dictatorship in the country. If a person has the right to economic freedom and individuality, who cares what morals the country has, including in terms of the way the country is governed?" Bartlomiej Grzelec said.
"If a system is effective, an economy works, people have jobs then I do not understand why someone should interfere with another country, turn it upside down and burn it down. As the Americans and NATO did with Syria, Lebanon, Libya and Iraq," he stated.
As far as Belarus is concerned, Bartlomiej Grzelec added that thanks to the visa waiver program Poles can come and see with their own eyes the life of the neighboring country.
