Plans to declare 2021 CIS Year of Architecture and Urban Development

MOSCOW, 17 January (BelTA) – The year of 2021 is to be declared the Year of Architecture and Urban Development in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia told BelTA following a session of the Commission on Economic Affairs of the CIS Economic Council that took place in Moscow on 17 January. Attending the session was Belarus' Ambassador to Russia and Plenipotentiary Representative at the CIS Economic Council Vladimir Semashko.

“The participants of the session studied a draft plan of events as part of the Year of Architecture and Urban Development in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2021. The document was developed following a decision of the CIS Heads of State Council as of 28 September 2018. It provides for holding various thematic events in the CIS member states as part of the Year of Architecture and Urban Development,” the press service informed.

Top on the agenda was Uzbekistan's presidency in the CIS in 2020. “The commission members approved the draft decisions of the CIS Economic Council on granting a status of innovation commercialization centers of the parties to the CIS interstate innovative cooperation program for the period till 2020, on using product marking by means of electronic identification in the CIS, as well as the CIS Quality Award 2019 for products and services. They also finalized dates and agendas of regular sessions of the CIS Economic Council and the Commission on Economic Affairs, the diplomatic mission informed.

The next session of the Commission on Economic Affairs of the CIS Economic Council is to take place in Moscow on 19 February.
