Planet 7693 wins Best Film award at Listapadzik children’s film festival in Minsk

MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) - The Montenegrin film Planet 7693 directed by Gojko Berkuljan was named best movie at the Listapadzik film competition for children and youth audiences. The awards ceremony took place at the Pioner cinema in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

This year the program is very strong, making it difficult to choose a winner, jury member Svetlana Sukhovey noted. “The films are different, but they all explore the same things: love, mutual assistance, support, the desire to preserve this world, and to love and support each other. I am very grateful to those who selected the films for the competition program. This year, we, as the jury, listened to our chairman, Manish Tiwary, who won the Best Film award in 2023 and was finally able to pick up his award," she said.

The Montenegrin film also received the awards for Best Directing, Best Cinematography and the Best Adult Actor in a Children's Film award.
A total of six films from five countries (Russia, Mexico, Montenegro, Iran, and China) participated in the competition. The Audience Choice Award went to the Russian film The Legend of Scythian Gold directed by Vyacheslav Kazantsev. It also received the Best Adult Actor in a Children's Film award.

According to the film's producer, Igor Kalenov, their works are participating in Listapadzik for the third time. Last year, their tandem won the main prize for the film Hold on to the Sun and this year they have brought a story about a family's adventures in Crimea. “We need children's cinema in all its forms, including films that combine educational and informative elements. However, making films for children is difficult because you cannot deceive a young audience. You can't amaze them with special effects alone; you must capture their interest and engage them. They either laugh, smile, applaud, or they don't watch. And if they don’t, you’ve lost,” Igor Kalenov explained.
Cinema Through the Eyes of Children, the special prize of the children's jury, was awarded to the Chinese film Super Wangwang directed by Kong Lingshou. “I hope that after watching this film, children will be able to make the world a better place. I also want them to follow the famous slogan from the film, which the coach repeated: be healthy and happy,” Kong Lingshou emphasized.

The Special Jury Award went to the Iranian animated film Dreamland directed by Mohsen Enayati. It also received The Artistic Embodiment of Universal Human Values award. The Russian film Tears of the Dragon directed by Tatiana Miroshnik won the Artistic Embodiment of National Heritage diploma and The Best Cast diploma.

Pioner Cinema served as the primary venue for Listapadzik. The 31st Minsk International Film Festival Listapad will be eunning in Belarus until November 7. Its slogan is History Shifting Perspectives. The line-up features 157 films from 41 countries, and the jury includes renowned figures and leading international-class film experts.
