MINSK, 24 April (BelTA) - Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko and Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State Vyacheslav Volodin discussed preparations for the international forum Great Heritage - Common Future, which will be held under the auspices of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
The event, scheduled to be held in Volgograd on 28-30 April, will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. It will serve as a platform to address such issues as preserving historical memory, countering attempts to distort facts about World War II and fostering patriotic education among young people.
Attending the event will be parliamentary delegations from CIS member states, friendly countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America, public figures, representatives of the scientific community and international experts.
