MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Khomenko and Chairwoman of the National Council of Provinces of the Parliament of South Africa Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane toured the Minsk Science and Treatment Center of Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology on 28 January, BelTA has learned.
"This center is a piece of art. We are moving towards a similar system in our country. We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality healthcare," Refilwe Mtsweni-Tsipane said. "Our president is going to visit your country. I want him to see this center. When I return home, I will tell the minister of health that he should also visit the center. I was briefed on the high level of surgeries you perform, especially cardiovascular surgery. We are striving for a system like you have, because it is ideal. We would like our countries to share knowledge and experience in healthcare. I have already offered the director of this center to contact our health council every time he visits South Africa. Thus we will be able to establish a mutually beneficial cooperation."
Esther Muthoni Passaris, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Kenya, was also very impressed by the Minsk Science and Treatment Center of Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology. “I am most impressed by the fact that healthcare is free in your country. Treatment of even diseases such as oncology and also expensive medicines are provided free of charge. This center looks and is better equipped than the best private clinics in our country. Your intensive care units, operating theaters have top-notch equipment. You should be proud of such a center,” she said. 
“I am happy that you are helping, training and assisting neighboring countries. I would like to see this cooperation in training also extend to the African continent. The fact that this center has the support of the president shows that people have made the right choice. I congratulate you because your president is doing exactly what good presidents should do for their people,” Esther Muthoni Passaris said.
