Pantus: Belarus keeps pace with drone technology

BERYOZA DISTRICT, 14 June (BelTA) - The Belarusian military-industrial complex tries to keep pace with the recent developments in unmanned aircraft and electronic warfare, Chairman of the Belarusian State Authority for Military Industry Dmitry Pantus told the media on 13 June, BelTA learned.

“We monitor the situation on the global arms market, including in unmanned aerial systems and electronic warfare, which was discussed in detail today [during the meeting with the president],” Dmitry Pantus noted.

He noted that the scientific school for electronic warfare in Belarus is traditionally somewhat stronger, and, accordingly, the results are slightly better than for drones. “These two areas are ever competing with each other. One forges ahead today, the second takes the lead tomorrow, and vice versa,” Dmitry Pantus said.

The line-up which was shown to the head of state will be continuously modernized and fine-tuned taking into account the wishes of the Defense Ministry and other law enforcement agencies, he said. “We discussed the scaling of production and the need for this in the near future. These issues will also be updated and clarified,” Dmitry Pantus said.
