Pakistan at First Glance exhibition opens in Minsk’s Chelyuskintsev Park

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) - A parliamentary delegation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan headed by Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Sardar Ayaz Sadiq opened the exhibition “Pakistan at First Glance” in Chelyuskintsev Park in Minsk on 20 August, BelTA has learned.

The exhibition “Pakistan at First Glance” was organized by the Embassy of Pakistan during the celebration of the 78th anniversary of Pakistan's independence. It is located in the art space of the park. The pictures show the country's cultural heritage, architectural features and religious diversity. There are also incredible landscapes: Karakoram and Himalayan ranges, lush green hills and valleys, deserts and pristine beaches.

The parliamentary delegation from Pakistan attended the inauguration event on 20 August. The exhibition was opened by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Sajjad Haider Khan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan to Belarus, and Minsk Vice Mayor Oleg Korzun.

According to Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the exhibition will get Belarusians familiar with the culture of Pakistan. He added however that only a small part of the country's beauties went on display. “Pakistan is a country with four seasons and it boasts everything from access to the sea to deserts and high mountain peaks. As far as you know, the world’s second largest mountain peak (more than 8,000m) and more than 3,000 other mountain peaks with a height of about 5,000m [are located in Pakistan]. These mountain peaks also have green meadows. Pakistan is an incredibly beautiful country, but as people say, the best way to be convinced of something is to see it with your own eyes. I invite everyone to visit Pakistan and admire this beauty for themselves,” he said.

He confessed that he admires Belarus as well. “Green forests are the first thing that catches your eye when you go by airplane. I was admire the people of Belarus, very friendly, polite and hospitable,” the speaker of parliament said.

He said he was honored to meet with President Aleksandr Lukashenko, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Igor Sergeyenko. “We had a long talk about mutually beneficial relations and the ways in which we could develop these relations. I am confident that a very fruitful and bright future awaits us all,” Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said.

The ambassador of Pakistan echoed the words of the speaker of parliament. Sajjad Haider Khan noted that he was glad to see such interest in the exhibition. “Pakistan is an incredibly beautiful country, which is famous for its landscapes, historical sights. It amazes travelers with its beauty. For those tourists who are planning their trip to Pakistan, please contact the embassy and we will do our best to ensure you can see [Pakistan] with your own eyes,” he said.
