Over 77% of Belarus' health workers fully vaccinated for COVID-19

MINSK, 24 August (BelTA) – More than 77% of healthcare workers and about 42% of school staff and other education and childcare professionals have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, BelTA informs citing the website of the National Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health.

More than 61% of social workers and employees in residential care facilities have got two shots; 93% of people over 18 years old living in such facilities have also completed the two-dose regimen.

Two doses of the vaccine were given to more than 23% of people over 60 years old and people with chronic diseases, over 17% of people working in the services sector, transportation, cultural and sports facilities, housing and communal services, energy and water supply, as well as about 12% of people working in dining facilities.

A reminder, as of 20 August, more than 1.55 million Belarusians received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine; over 1.27 million of them have been vaccinated with the second dose. The immunization program continues.
